How To Install And Care For LPD Internal Doors

Timber is a natural product and is subject to humidity and temperature changes.   Each door may have slightly different patterns of graining or colour variations. As the timber ages, these colour variations will subside.

The following must be carried out to ensure the best performance from your LPD door:

• Doors must be examined immediately on receipt and prior to installation as claims or faults will not be accepted once the door has been removed from packaging.

• This door must be stored horizontally on a clean, dry, flat and level surface. This door must not be fitted in a house that is freshly plastered and doors should only be delivered to site after all wet trades are finished.

• To allow this door to acclimatize, it should be left in the house prior to installation for at least 7 days with the ambient temperature gradually increased over this period.

Finishing

Products taken out of their packaging, must be fully decorated straight away. Pre-finished doors however, come already finished and ready to hang. If the door edges are trimmed, they will need finishing with a polyurethane varnish.

Oak timber doors can be decorated with paint, stain, varnish or lacquer. White primed timber doors can be decorated with any good quality paint suited to your property. LPD internal joinery is NOT suitable for waxes, polishes, dyes and

oils etc. Please refer to manufacturer’s instructions.

LPD are forming a new partnership with Treatex and recommend their Hard Wax Oil for unfinished oak internal doors. It is designed to enhance and protect the natural beauty of your door and is user friendly, easy to apply and can be used in all interior situations.

Core Types

There are three door core types:

Solid Core:

• Solid lippings (size varies across LPD door range)
• Core made up of solid particular board
• Door face – ie veneer or laminate

Semi-Solid Core:

• Solid lippings (size varies across LPD door range)
• Solid frame
• Core which is made up in sections: hollow and solid particular board
• Door face – ie veneer or laminate

Hollow Core:

• Solid lippings (size varies across LPD door range)
• Solid frame
• Core made up of honeycomb
• Door face – ie veneer or laminate

Guarantee

LPD are proud to stand by their doors, and have no hesitation in offering a conditional 10 Year guarantee against faulty materials or workmanship. Should one of their doors be found to be defective upon delivery, or develop a fault due to faulty materials or workmanship within 10 Years of delivery, at their discretion LPD will offer the original purchaser the option of repair, replacement or refund. Due to manufacturing process, colours and specification of the products may vary from those shown. Please note guarantee is 5 years for glass and hardware.

The delivery charges quoted below and in your shopping basket are for deliveries to mainland England and Wales. We will provide a price on application for delivery to Scotland and all UK Islands. We have a right to change delivery costs at short notice.

All costs of delivery include VAT at the national standard rate.

Delivery charges are per brand - if you purchase products from different brands, you will incur separate delivery charges for each brand.

Deliveries can take up to 10 working days, depending on postcode.

Deliveries within the London Congestion Charging Zone will incur an £18 surcharge (included in the shopping basket).

Delivery to Scotland and UK island postcodes will incur surcharges - please contact us for a quote.

Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to GY, IM, JE, TR21-25, PO30 - 40 and ROI, but can drop off at a port of your choice.

We offer free delivery for all goods collected from the warehouse.
